Justin Bieber and the legendary Michael Jackson have stark similarities when it comes to their music career history. Both of them shot to fame at a very young age. Bieber has revealed that he takes inspiration from the King of Pop as far as his music career is concerned.
Speaking about MJ, Justin said, “A lot of teen stars didn’t really work did they? So I’m doing my own thing. The only person I look at for guidance is Michael Jackson. I definitely look at his career when he was young and growing up in the spotlight. Career-wise I would say he’s the biggest artist ever.”
Michael Jackson died at the age of 50 due to a fatal overdose of hospital grade painkiller Propofol in 2009. MJ was supposed to begin his biggest world tour concert ‘This Is It’.
Unlike other junior artists, Michael Jackson was one of the very few who made it big and even though late in his career, certain incidents marred his image, Justin Bieber still looks up to him as the most successful artist of all time.
Just as MJ had released his hit single ‘Billie Jean’ in an attempt to portray the fictional account of a fan claiming he’d fathered her child, Bieber too included a track in his latest album ‘Believe’ which is about the false allegations of a young teenage girl Mariah Yeater who accused Justin of being the father of her child.
In an interview to Q Magazine, the ‘Boyfriend’ singer said, “We definitely took inspiration from that song. I wanted to write something different and something the fans would be connected to and understand. I wanted them to think, ‘Yeah that’s Justin’s life and he’s talking about stuff that’s really going on.”
We hope Bieber too has the same shining music career as the legendary King of Pop. Still he has a long way to go.
