The demand for Justin Bieber’s perfume ‘Someday’ has skyrocketed after its big win at FIFI awards. The awards which are sponsored by The Fragrance Foundation honor the fragrance industry’s creative achievements and is considered as the most valued and prestigious event in the fragrance industry. Its dubbed as the ‘oscars’ of the perfume world. The awards have been held since 1973 in New York City and are attended by around 1000 members from international fragrance industry, and celebrities from the field of fashion, theatre, film or television industries.
This years awards will be presented on May 21st in New York and Jane Lynch of ‘Glee’ fame will be hosting it.
According to the New York Daily, Justin Bieber’s women’s perfume ‘Someday’ broke records. The 18 year old will receive the “Elizabeth Taylor Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award”, which honors a celebrity who has promoted and embraced the perfume world. This decision was unanimous by the Board of Directors.
As a result of the win, sales of ‘Someday’ perfume have escalated which resulted in a whopping profit of $3 million in just 3 weeks. Other perfumes in contention were Prada Candy and Tom Ford Violet Blonde.
The nouveau niche men and the nouveau niche women categories saw Ford’s Jasmin Rouge fragrance being nominated. Armani Code Sport, Gucci Guilty Pour Homme, John Varvatos USA, Yves Saint Laurent’s L’Homme Libre and Un Jardin Sur Le Toit by Hermes will fight it out for the best luxe men prize.
