The action on stage at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards was hot, fast and furious, rarely pausing for a breath during the broadcast on Sunday night (September 12). But the action behind the scenes, in the audience and back stage was just as intense. When you put that many stars in a room together and let them mingle, they are going to hang out, chat and create some truly magic moments. If you were following along with the exclusive insiders’ live blog last night, you would know that Hayley Williams loved her seats in the Nokia Theatre (because she was sitting close to Lady Gaga and could watch her costume changes occur in real time) and that the best after-party was in Kanye West’s dressing room (Usher, Drake, Rihanna and Florence Welch were all present and accounted for). But there were plenty of other connections made, including an encounter between Katy Perry, Rihanna and everybody’s favorite 16-year-old pop sensation Justin Bieber.

In fact, Bieber got around last night, as he also hung out with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Usher, Drake, Jaden Smith and, of course, some fans. He’s a popular guy, to be sure, and it’s possible that any one of these meetings could lead to future collaborations.
